Barnesdale Farm is a 150 acre farm located in beautiful Carroll County, Maryland. We are about a half hour’s drive from Baltimore and an hour’s drive from Washington, D.C.
Our farm has been in the Barnes family for several generations. Prior to our taking the farm over, it was primarily used for dairy operations.
We dedicate roughly 7 acres of green space and buildings to our cut flower operation and this year, 2023, is our third season.
We hope to add a few more acres of green space to this project in the near future.
We support our flowers by using natural and sustainable farming practices. As a result, we use only pesticides and herbicides that come from natural sources.
Our primary goal is to offer quality products at reasonable prices while simultaneously improving the environment.
Despite our flower operation being small, we raise numerous types of flowers, including sunflowers, celosia, statice, bachelor buttons, zinnias, ornamental amaranth, and poppies. And? This year we have doubled our number of dahlia plants. We have 165 this summer ranging in sizes from ball to dinner-plate.
During the next few years, as we continue to move forward, we hope to eventually be in a position to not only offer products to our local community but also to expand our business and offer products to residents of nearby Baltimore and Washington, D.C.
